Who this is for
Individuals who have suffered abuse, or who still do. That includes people who need to leave a household or a relationship, people who have already left, and people who still have to deal with the person involved from time to time.
Purpose
The Committee of Defence works with people, not with a public caseload. What we publish here is only what a stranger needs in order to know that the organisation exists and how to ask for contact.
What we will not put on this page
We will not describe how cases are taken, how people are moved, how contact is managed, or how other parts of a person’s life are supported. That information helps the people we work against.
The work, in public terms
These are the only three statements we make about the work itself.

Leave
When a person needs to get out of the environment they are in, that is the first task.

Protect
When they are out, the next task is to keep them safe in the life they now have.

Continue
When they still have to deal with the people involved, or with the rest of their life, we stay with that work.
Departments
The organisation is split by function. Public names are listed. Public methods are not.
Domestic Threats
Work that starts with the environment a person is living in, and with the people who make that environment unsafe.
Intelligence Hub
Internal assessment used by the other departments. Not a public reporting desk.
Operations
The part of the organisation that carries out agreed work with a person once a case is active.
CEASE
An internal channel used by people who already have access. It is not opened from this page.
Limits of this site
- This site does not take case detail in public view.
- This site does not confirm or deny that any named person is being helped.
- This site does not publish guidance that can be used against a person we work with.
- Staff and departments are not listed beyond the names above.
Access
If you already work with us, use the channel you were given. Do not send case material through a new public form if you have an existing route.
If you are asking for first contact, give only enough for us to know that the message is real and that a reply can reach you. Do not include names of other people, addresses, or a full account of what has happened.
